A Message From Callie:

I would like to serve the citizens of Lawrence County as their next circuit judge.  I have spent my entire legal career in public service.  As your next circuit judge, I will continue this service by working diligently to bring impartiality, integrity, and fairness to the court system while being faithful to our conservative values and the laws of the State of Alabama.  I am running for circuit judge because Lawrence County deserves someone who is willing to work hard to ensure our families receive the closure they deserve and our circuit court is run in an efficient and timely manner.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Election Day, May 24th, 2022. Every vote counts!

Why Callie?

Having worked in many different courts across North Alabama over the last 17 years, Callie has seen how other judges address and oversee their caseloads.  There should be no unnecessary delays in giving people closure in matters before the court.  Whether it is a divorce case, a child custody case, a criminal case where restitution is needed, or any other case the circuit court may handle, the citizens of Lawrence County deserve the court’s due diligence to promptly resolve cases and provide them closure.  As your next circuit judge, Callie promises to do just that.

Additionally, drug use and abuse are a constant problem in Lawrence County.  It overloads our police departments and jails and is a never-ending, revolving door for most offenders.  As Circuit Judge, Callie would like to revamp and revitalize the drug court program.  An efficient drug court program can play a vital role in helping those that genuinely want treatment and rehabilitation.  Jail overcrowding is an ever-increasing problem and unfortunately, it is a problem that is not going away.  For this reason, Callie would also like to reestablish the Lawrence County Community Corrections program.  Sadly, this program has been nonexistent since the retirement of the program’s previous director and that must change.

Callie also plans to implement a new program, called “Handle With Care.”  Every year, many kids are exposed to trauma or violence that can significantly undermine their ability to learn.  This program is a collaboration between local law enforcement and the schools.  It will provide the schools with a “heads up” when a child has been identified at the scene of a traumatic event.  A confidential email or fax will be sent that simply says, handle [the name of the child] with care. That’s it.  No other details.  The schools will be educated on what this means and what steps need to be taken. Our children are the future of Lawrence County and it is our job to do all we can do to help them along the way.

Lawrence County needs someone who will work hard to ensure our families receive the closure they deserve and our circuit court is run in an efficient and timely manner.
